Velform Chin Wrap Ingredient Gotu Kola

Velform Chin Wrap

The Velform chin wrap is a new product claiming to treat sagging skin on the neck area and to reduce scarring.  One of the two active ingredients is the herb Gotu Kola.  The Velform chin wrap ingredient Gotu Kola has a long medicinal history.  It may also be referred to as Brahmi, Centella, or Thick-leaved Pennywort.  People from China, India and Indonesia have been utilizing this plant for centuries for a variety of uses, both medicinal and preventative.  The plant grow in warm areas, including Hawaii.  It is a robust plant and is known to grow in patches on the side of the road and other neglected areas.  Some eat the plant fresh, and it is known to be a good source of Vitamin C.

Recent studies with mice have attributed such benefits as increased memory and energy levels to the plant. The advertised effect in the Veform chin wrap is to increase the blood flow to the area, revitalizing the skin and leaving it more youthful looking.  Some other uses of this herb include using it as an aid to increase immune system health, increase virility, and to treat leprosy, lupus, and dysentery.  Those listed are only a few of the common uses for the herb.  The herb is also believed to help the body overcome stress and fatigue.

Gotu Kola is not related to the Cola nut and contains no caffeine.  It has been confirmed through testing that the herb will increase blood flow, and therefore a physician should be consulted before use, especially for people with diabetes and high blood pressure.  The FDA of America has not approved all uses for the plant and it should not be taken in place of prescribed medications.  Someone considering the use of this herbal remedy may want to consult an experienced practitioner of herbal supplements.

This plant may be ingested orally or applied to the skin topically.  Some cases of allergic reactions have been noted, including nausea, upset stomach, or drowsiness.  Serious side-effects include jaundice, difficulty breathing, or swelling of the mouth, face or hands.  Reported side-effects are rare.  It has also been reported to work adversely with certain medications.
As with other herbal remedies, Gotu Kola has a large following of people who believe strongly in its positive effects.  While some testing has been conducted on the herb, not all the benefits have been verified or disproven by science.
